It would probably be best to major in business or public relations. Also, you could probably major in culinary arts, performing arts or arts in general, but I heard that having a business degree is beneficial for event/wedding planners. Usually when I want to find information on a career I go to www.bls.gov or I type in this in a search engine (Google or Yahoo!):

What can I do with a major in "event planner"

This should have several results with titles such as "What Can I do with a major in Performance Arts" or whatever major may be associated with the career.

If you are really unsure about which major to focus on, try going to a career counselor at your college or university. They have several assessments that can match your personality or career preferences to several majors or occupations and this could help a lot in narrowing down your decision on what you should major in. For now (if you can), go as undecided in your major and focus on getting your core classes completed while doing thorough research on event/wedding planner as a career to see what majors or options are available to you. Also, try talking to an advisor at your college or university and see if they have more information about what majors are associated with your career choice.

I hope this helps you out a little and good luck! :)
